Baccarat card counting
Baccarat is a card game in which cards are dealt from a shoe and
not replaced. As always when sampling from a finite population without
replacement, the odds of subsequent trials depend on each other.
However, these changes are neglectible, given that the shoe often
contains 6 to 8 decks of cards, which is a good approximation of
infinity as far as card counting is concerned.
It has been proven by Edward Thorpe amongst others, that no baccarat
card counting strategy can overcome the house edge in the long
run. Compared to Blackjack, baccarat card counting is about 9 times
less effective. Note that card counting makes no sense in the first
place in online casinos, as the shoe is reshuffled every turn (sampling
*with* replacement).
Tip: The best Baccarat bets (with the lowest house edge)
are offered Micrograming casinos
and Boss Media casinos, because
they offer single-deck Baccarat.
