Cryptologic Roulette

Cryptologic offers three different versions of Roulette: American Roulette, European Roulette and VIP European Roulette. We will explain the differences between these three different types of Cryptologic Roulette below, but you are advised to first read our general introduction to Roulette Rules and Roulette Strategy.

Cryptologic's American Roulette

American Roulette is played with a Roulette wheel consisting of 38 numbers, including the Zero and the Double Zero. The house edge for standard American Roulette is 5.26%, but Cryptologic also offers a variant of surrender, called the "Zero or Double Zero Rule". In standard American Roulette an even-money bet (high-low bet, black-red bet, odd-even bet) doesn't pay when you lose to a Zero or a Double Zero, but in Cryptologic's version of American Roulette, you will only lose half your original bet. The result is that the house edge on even-money bets in Cryptologic American Roulette, drops from the standard 5.26% to 2.63%. The house edge of the remaining bets stays the same.

Cryptologic's European Roulette

European Roulette is played with a Roulette wheel consisting of 37 numbers, thereby omitting the Double Zero that is found in American Roulette. The direct implication is that the house edge on European Roulette is 2.70% on *all* bets, as compared to 5.26% with American Roulette.

Cryptologic's VIP European Roulette

VIP European Roulette is the best Roulette game Cryptologic has to offer. Just like standard European Roulette most bets have a house edge of 2.70%. However, VIP European Roulette also offers a variant of surrender, called the "Zero or Double Zero Rule". Normally, an even-money bet (high-low bet, black-red bet, odd-even bet) doesn't pay when you lose to a Zero or a Double Zero, but in VIP European Roulette, you will only lose half your original bet. The result is that the house edge on even-money bets in VIP European Roulette drops even further to a very low 1.35%, making VIP European Roulette one of the best Roulette games available online.
