Deuces and Joker Video Poker |
Deuces and Joker video poker is played according to the same
principles as standard Jacks or Better video poker. However there
are some major differences that make Deuces and Joker video poker
an entirely different game. The main differences are:

All cards with a face value of two
(the deuces) are wild. A wild card can substitute for any other
card in the deck. This is the same as in Deuces Wild video poker. |

A Joker is added to the deck, so the deck consists
of 53 cards instead of the standard 52. The Joker is also a
wild card. This makes the game different from Deuces Wild video
poker |
Because there are five wild cards in the deck, hands like a Full
House or Four of a Kind are much easier to obtain and their payouts
have been decreased accordingly. Jacks or Better and Two Pairs have
been dropped from the payout schedule completely. Of course this
is compensated by a couple of hands that aren't even possible in
standard Jacks or Better, for example Five of a Kind, a Wild Royal
Flush and Four Deuces and a Joker, the highest hand possible.

Joker video poker with their corresponding rankings.
Deuces and Joker video poker payout table
The payout table presented here is used at a few Microgaming
casinos we visited. There are two reasons why you should always
bet max coins with a payout table like this. First, you are only paid
for Four Deuces and a Joker if you bet max coins. Secondly, the payout
for a Natural Royal Flush is proportionally better if you bet 5 coins
than if you bet 1 to 4 coins. The main differences with a standard
Jacks or Better payout table are highlighted in red, although it should
be noted that almost every payout is different compared to standard
Jacks or Better video poker.
