Louisiana Double Video Poker |
Louisiana Double video poker does resemble Jacks or Better video
poker very closely. There is only one crucial difference, and that
is the addition of a special 53rd Double Card to the deck. The Double
Card is *not* a wild card, meaning it can *not* be used to substitute
for any other card in the deck. But if your hand contains a winning
combination found in the payout table, *plus* the Double Card, the
payouts for that hand are doubled automatically. This is of course
only possible for winning combinations consisting of four or less
cards, i.e. a Four of a Kind, a Three of a Kind, Two Pairs and Jacks
or Better.
Louisiana Double video poker payout table
Microgaming casinos use the
payout table that is presented here. When we compare this payout table
to the one used with full pay Jacks or Better, we find lower payouts
for a Royal Flush and a Three of a Kind, and higher payouts for a
Straight Flush and a Four of a Kind. The payouts for four of the hands
listed can be doubled if you also have the special Double Card in
your hand. These hands are Four of a Kind, Three of a Kind, Two Pairs
and Jacks or Better. Remember to always bet max coins as a 5 coin
Royal Flush pays proportionally more than a Royal Flush with only
1 to 4 coins.
